Friday!

This is going to be my Friday anthem every week!

One of the stupidest lines I have heard in my life, "At least it wasn't another woman."
I have heard this line more than once in talk shows when wives knew their husbands were unfaithful and on sending in the hidden cameras found out that their husbands were sleeping with a man and not a woman.
Lady please! Does it make a difference? In fact if I were in their shoes I would be even more shocked. In those cases it means a) you were so blinded by love that you married a gay man b) your game was so whack you made him gay. Whichever it is it doesn't soften the blow at all!
But anyway, that's one unique thing about women; most of them can rationalise anything especially when love is involved. I remember the Standard once did some articles about abused women who chose to stay in their relationships ( I would search for it but the Standard's search engine is a steaming load of crap), there was one woman who said; " Even though he beats me almost every other day, he doesn't look at other women and comes home only to me." Yes he saves his kicks and punches for only you, tell her what she's won Johnny!
"Of course! You now win various bruises, some broken bones, an occasional concussion and utter humiliation! Thank you for playing the love and marriage game!"

Anyway what do I know about Women and dating? I need to go to the Movie Buff school of Relationships to learn a thing or two. Nice weekend all!

Seven Secrets.............

It's been a while but I was tagged by Supaflyishi to post 7 facts about me that people don't know and to tag 7 other people. I took my liberties to also add things that I am thinking that people don't know...........

1. I prefer driving manual cars to cars with automatic transmission.
2. I have fallen in love with Sudoku.
3. I think I have grown a few inches taller in the last few years, I met someone who used to be taller than me when we were in college but now we are the same height plus some trousers I had a few years back are too short now. It could be my friends and clothes are shrinking or maybe I'm growing sideways?? The possibilities are endless!
4. I got a warm fuzzy feeling in my tummy and tears in my eyes when I heard that Paris Hilton was sentenced to jail.
5. There is a friend of mine who wants to apply for some State Grants and asked me for help. I want to help her, but the problem is that she knows jack about proposal writing et al but has had the nerve to argue with me and try to set me straight all the time; despite the fact that I have been studying and doing such stuff for a long time. I'm going to become very unavailable soon.........
6. If I wanted to I could write "serious" posts and commentaries but I just lack the motivation most of the time because call it apathy but there are enough people out there expressing their opinions on politics, current affairs, the economy etc; so I'll just read their stuff and stick to what I know...my life.
7. Whenever I meet Kenyans out here, I don't get a lump in my throat and ecstatic. It's not that I hate Kenyans, it's just that they are like cockroaches out here, everywhere you look and for that one you see there are 3 that came with it hiding somewhere.

I would like to tag these 7 bloggers to share with us.

1.Archer
2.Aegeus
3.Mocha!
4.EGM
5.Movie Buff
6.Devious One
7.Nick (We shall wait till you are done watching Spider-man 3)

Where Are They? And Other Things.......

En Vogue, SWV, En Vogue, Xscape, Total, Ex Girlfriend, Kut Klose, Shanice and Zhane. This is just a short list of the great female talent we used to see on the R n B scene of whose ilk we don't see anymore. Yes there are still some old timers like Mary J Blige who are representing but let's be honest there very little female talent nowadays. What is even more noticeable is how the numbers really thin when you start looking at age, look at songstresses like Jojo and Rihanna who are barely out of their teens but there is very little talent out there that is past the age of 30. I honestly think that the music industry has taken this whole "sex sells" spiel a bit too far; give us talent over looks any day!

Can anyone who is abroad tell me why relationships outside Kenya are so dysfunctional? Whenever I talk to people no-one really has anything to say about the opposite gender, plus the drama that goes on in most of those relationships is so interesting, inexplicable and intricate that at times I wish I could get a camera into peoples' lives and watch all day. I'm not saying that relationships in Kenya were perfect, we all know that isn't the case but the state of affairs out here makes Kenya look like some sort of relationship haven or paradise. Anyway views and opinions on this issue are more than welcome! Now it's back to the grind, this everyday grind business is boring, I need to win the lottery!
